Top 5 (plus 1) albums of 2015

2015 had a lot to offer, music-wise at the very least. Many great albums were released, pop, rock, rap, hip hop. Good efforts from all the music genres in general and I found it quite difficult to choose my very favourite ones. This year’s top 5, plus one, contains five great albums from five extraordinary artists and one compilation, a soundtrack! Check this years Top 5 (plus 1), according to me off course, and have a Merry Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Το 2015 ήταν μία γεμάτη χρονιά, με πολλές εκπλήξεις και πολύ δυνατές στιγμές, τουλάχιστον μουσικά! Οι κυκλοφορίες πολλές και δυστυχώς για εμένα, που έχω το μικρόβιο της κατηγοριοποίησης και λατρεύω τις λίστες, πολύ καλές. Μετά από πολύ κόπο όμως, κατέληξα στα πέντε καλύτερα album της χρονιάς που πέρασε, συν ένα! Το plus 1 αυτής της χρονιάς είναι ένα soundtrack που ξεχώρισε. Lady Gaga was honored with the award of Woman of the Year in Billboard's Women in Music event. Lady Gaga was presented by her own mother, she performed "Till It Happens To You", the soundtrack of The Hunting Ground and then gave an emotional speech about the difficulties that women face in music industry.

Adele on X Factor UK, Next 25 single + North American World tour dates

Adele’s reign won't give up any soon and it will continue to roll over next year! After appearing on the finale of The X Factor UK to perform her smash 25 single "Hello" she announced her North American world tour dates. Adele’s "Hello" is currently ruling the charts at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100, for a seventh week and now the singer is ready to follow up with a new single,  "When We Were Young".

Μετά την εμφάνισή της στον τελικό του Αγγλικού  X Factor, όπου ερμήνευσε το smash hit της "Hello", ανακοίνωσε τις ημερομηνίες της παγκόσμιας περιοδείας της στην Βόρεια Αμερική. Το "Hello" βρίσκεται στην κορυφή του Hot 100 για έβδομη εβδομάδα και απ' ότι φαίνεται η Adele είναι έτοιμη για το follow-up single, το "When We Were Young".

One Direction's final performance before hiatus

During summer, One Direction revealed to fans that they will be taking a break after the release of their fifth Made In The A.M. album. Yesterday the boy band performed on The X Factor UK’s season finale their final performance as a group, at least for now.

Willow Smith drops surprise debut album Ardipithecus

15-year-old Willow Smith has dropped her surprise, jaw dropping debut album, Ardipithecus. It’s streaming now on Apple Music. Willow wrote 14 of the 15 tracks, and, impressively, produced 10 of them. It seems like yesterday when she was flipping her hair back and forth, but as it looks like Willow is in the right path.

As well as Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth for "See You Again", Brian Wilson for "One Kind Of Love" and David Lang for "Simple Song". Those are the nominees for Best Original Song. The big surprise is Lady Gaga's nomination for Best Performance By An Actress In A Limited Series, let's put our paws up and hope for the best!

Robyn & La Bagatelle Magique - Love Is Free, video premiere

Earlier this summer, Robyn & La Bagatelle Magique a.k.a. Markus Jägerstedt and Christian Falk,  released their Love Is Free EP. Falk died last year, but Robyn and Markus decided to support the EP's release with a few live dates. After one show, though, Robyn canceled the remaining dates, saying it was too difficult and emotional for her to perform stuff she worked on with her late friend. But now they're releasing the video for lead single "Love Is Free".

Η Robyn συνεργάστηκε με τους La Bagatelle Magique ή αλλιώς Markus Jägerstedt και Christian Falk, και μαζί κυκλοφόρησαν το EP Love Is Free το καλοκαίρι που μας πέρασε. NBC's "Adele Live In New York City" concert commercial + tour tickets mania

The Adele reign won't slow down any soon, so she partnered with NBC for a television special called Adele Live In New York City. The news was first revealed in October and yesterday the channel premiered the first promo for the upcoming broadcast. This week the pre-sale of her tour tickets started for those who had registered to her site and off course those limited tickets were sold out instantly. The annoying thing is that those tickets were being resold for up to TEN times the face value just hours after going on sale. Tickets cost between £35 and £95, plus booking fees, and the resellers give them for up to £2,900... 

Από τον Οκτώβριο είχε ανακοινωθεί η συνεργασία της Adele με το NBC και χθες κυκλοφόρησε το πρώτο promo για το live της με τίτλο Adele Live In New York City. Επίσης, αυτή τη βδομάδα ξεκίνησε η προπώληση των εισιτηρίων για αυτούς που είχαν εγγραφεί νωρίτερα στο site της Adele. Τα εισιτήρια αυτά ήταν περιορισμένα και φυσικά έγιναν ανάρπαστα αφού πουλήθηκαν σε μόλις λίγες ώρες. Το εκνευριστικό της όλης υπόθεσης είναι ότι αυτά τα εισιτήρια άρχισαν να μεταπωλούνται από εταιρίες μέχρι και πάνω από ΔΕΚΑ φορές την αξία τους λίγες ώρες αργότερα.  Ενώ οι τιμές κυμαίνονται από £35 με £95, συν τα έξοδα αποστολής, οι μεταπωλητές τα δίνουν μέχρι και £2,900...

John Legend's "Under The Stars" features stars vibrations

John Legend released his new song "Under The Stars" for Stella Artois' Give Beautifully holiday campaign accompanied by the vibration of actual stars. Yes, you've read it right. "I didn’t really realize we could do this, but scientists have been recording the vibrations of stars. We were able to incorporate the recordings into the song".

O John Legend κυκλοφόρησε το νέο του τραγούδι "Under The Stars" για την Χριστουγεννιάτικη καμπάνια της μπύρας Stella Artois, Give Beautifully, το οποίο εμπεριέχει ήχους από τις δονήσεις αστέρων. Ναι, καλά διαβάσατε. "Δεν ήξερα ότι μπορούσαμε να το κάνουμε αυτό, αλλά οι επιστήμονες ηχογραφούν τις δονήσεις των αστέρων. Και μπορέσαμε να χρησιμοποιήσουμε αυτές τις ηχογραφήσεις στο τραγούδι".

Adele's 25 sold 3.38 Million copies, dominates Billboard 200

The numbers are in: Adele’s third album 25 sold 3.38 million copies during its first week in the United States, the biggest week for an album since Nielsen Music began tracking sales in 1991. No need to mention that it is Billboard 200's No.1 for this week. Her second album 21 is back on the game at #9 with 34,000 sales and her debut LP 19 at #20 with 20,000 sales.

H καταμέτρηση έγινε και η Adele ξεπέρασε κάθε προσδοκία. Το νέο της album 25 πούλησε 3,38 εκατομμύρια την πρώτη κιόλας βδομάδα του μόνο στην Αμερική, κατακτώντας το ρεκόρ  του album με τις περισσότερες πωλήσεις σε μία μόνο εβδομάδα. Δεν χρειάζεται νομίζω να ειπωθεί ότι βρίσκεται στην πρώτη θέση του Billboard 200. Το δεύτερο album της 21, μπαίνει ξανά στο παιχνίδι στη θέση #8 με πωλήσεις 34.000 και το πρώτο της LP 19 στη θέση #20 me 20.000 πωλήσεις.
