Academy Awards 2015: Lady Gaga shines above them all

Lady Gaga took the stage at the 2015 Academy Awards to sing a Sound Of Music medley as a tribute to Julie Andrews and for the 50th anniversary of the film. Sure Common, John Legend, Tegan & Sara, Adam Levine, Jennifer Hudson and Rita Ora performed as well, but Mother Monster’s rendition was one of the biggest moments of the ceremony! She really deserved an Oscar, for no reason, after that performance, instead she got a standing ovation!

It’s been decades and somehow the female artists still manage to shock the majority of viewers with the expresion of their sexuality or the lack of clothing. It’s interesting that when it comes to male singers we don’t see the same reaction from the public eye, Kanye, Eminem, Adam Levine can take their clothes off and curse as much as they won’t without being criticized. But when it comes to the girls, oh my! I’m posting this today not because I have answers , oh no, I’m full of questions! How can really a naked body, the beauty of a naked body,  actually shock someone? Isn’t it the perfect thing there is? Aren’t we allowed to experiment sexually? Isn’t it the best to have a role model that isn’t ashamed of their body and embraces the nudity in an artistic way and pushes you to experience your sexual orientation whichever it is and not to be ashamed of it? Off course in many cases they use it as a marketing trick, but why in 2013, watching a very beautiful and full of life young Miley Cyrus exposing herself is just, as a prudish would say, selling sex? Is it the society that forces us to blush in front of girls’ boobies, is it religion that says no to sex or is it just out of spice, some times jealousy overtakes?

Miley off course isn’t the first pop icon who “crossed the line”!

Madonna did it first by actually selling “Sex”! The collector’s item to have, a sex - book, cone bras and many many sexual arousing videos!
