Xenia & Plastelini

I’ve attended three of Xenia’s lives in less than a year, I can officially declare myself a groupie! Xenia & Plastelini, a.k.a. Xenia Gargali and Periklis Biskinis, formed their group back in 2011 but it wasn’t until last year that I started following them around from live to live. Frankly, what originally caught my attention was their funky, Jazz covers of popular songs like “Rolling In The Deep” by Adele, “Creep” by Radiohead and “Feeling Good” by Nina Simone, and classics such as “These Boots Are Made For Walking”, “Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps” and “Sway”. In 2013 they released their debut album, Plastelini, consisted by eight original songs. Watching a ravishing Femme Fatale, diva in the making able to sing an Adele or Nina song without running off the stage crying is absolutely admirable. I salute Xenia and her Plastelini and I’m looking forward to the next live!

Μέσα σε λιγότερο από ένα χρόνο, έχω βρεθεί τρεις φορές σε live της Ξένιας, κρεμασμένος από τα κάγκελα της πρώτης σειράς, με λες και groupie! Ενώ οι Ξένια Γαργάλη και Περικλής Μπισκίνης έχουν δημιουργήσει το σχήμα Πλαστελίνη από το 2011, με δάκρυα στα μάτια ομολογώ πως μόλις πέρυσι τους ανακάλυψα, και φυσικά είπα να αναπληρώσω το χαμένο χρόνο. Αρχικά αυτό που μου τράβηξε την προσοχή, ήταν οι διασκευές τους σε γνωστά κομμάτια, “Rolling In The Deep” της Adele, “Creep” των Radiohead και “Feeling Good” της Nina Simone, αλλά και κλασικά όπως “These Boots Are Made For Walking”, “Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps” και “Sway”. Στη συνέχεια βέβαια ανακάλυψα και το original υλικό τους, το 2013 κυκλοφόρησαν τον πρώτο τους δίσκο, Plastelini, ο οποίος αποτελείται από οχτώ κομμάτια. Η Ξένια είναι μία πραγματική Femme Fatale, pin-up φιγούρα που μπορεί να τραγουδήσει Adele και Nina Simone και να σε αφήσει άφωνο. Τελικά να είμαι ή να μην είμαι groupie; Ψηφίζω ναι!
