Cyndi Lauper announces country album Detour out in May

When Cyndi Lauper released her version of Dolly Parton's classic "Hard Candy Christmas" at the holidays, she was recording her 11th studio album Detour, and it is a country one. The album now has a cover art and a release date of May 6 and included are cover versions of country classics from several different decades.

Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors" is one of my favorite songs ever. What happens when Marina And The Diamonds covers it? Pure magic. The even more stripped down version of Marina's, just a piano and her voice, was supposed to be in her latest album FROOT reissue, that never came through.

Cyndi Lauper's "She's So Unusual" 30th Anniversary re-release

Cyndi Lauper‘s debut solo LP She’s So Unusual was released in October 1983 and   on April 1 will be released its 30th anniversary two-disc  classic album featuring hits like "Girls Just Want To Have Fun", "Time After Time", "She Bop" and "All Through The Night". Included as bonus tracks on the first disc will be a Yolanda Be Cool remix of the LP’s first single/MTV staple "Girls Just Want To Have Fun", plus two mixes of chart-topper "Time After Time" by Nervo and Bent Collective.
